As Helpdesk Supervisor of our Global Service Desk, I manage a team of 13 people who assist our global client base with IT service desk requirements.
Customer service and cultivating a loyal following with clients has always been of interest to me, I enjoy working with people and solving problems. After college, I studied Customs Administration: International Trade, Tariff and Customs Law and after graduation I become a Customs Broker Apprentice. Years later, I attended a bootcamp related to technology and let’s say, it was there, I found my calling and my interest in technology. Having worked for Microsoft and companies both large and small I could see a trend in many industries being male dominated, but each company I have worked for has recognised the importance of the female perspective and the benefits of women in leadership roles and the impact they have on the overall business performance.
My advice for women in Tech is, remember we are fantastic multitaskers and problem solvers. I think we are programmed with attentive listening skills and have a fantastic ability to retain information and do multiple things at once.
CrossPoint was and always will be an enabler for me, not only has CrossPoint invested in training and teaching from a technical and people management perspective but they continually encourage our greater team to keep learning, to develop and grow ourselves both within and outside of the business.
